The first paragraph of my story

"It was 12:00. I remember the exact time because my digital clock had been announcing these same numbers for about four or five days, flashing green lettering across its face. The power had gone out due to a totally unrelated lightning storm, and I suppose it had never entered into my mind to reset it. Either way, the flish-flashing of my clock told me that it was noon and had been for the past several hours, and I had no real mind to disbelieve this. When something, even the time, remains constant for long enough, you tend to believe the stability over any logic you may try to devise."
