Finity?

If civilization reaches such an enlightened state in which we realize that there is no such thing as infinity and that there is a place where numbers finally stop, would the numbers we think of now still retain their same value? In other words, if there was indeed a finite amount of numbers with a well-defined cut-off point, how would that effect the value of preexisting numbers? This question has bothered me for a very long time.
