I've now lived in California for about seven months, six spent in a nice little apartment surrounded by trees and big, colorful flowers. I've just finished reading a big book about publishing and now am about to undertake that endeavor. I hope to publish a book of poems sometime within one year. I'm working at a hotel, making that money, saving for school and books and a computer and spending the rest on bills and groceries and trips out to Berkeley and San Francisco. I like to go out and try to find the man who plays an instrument he invented out on the city streets. He's in a different place every time, but you can always find him by following the surreal melody and then he's posed in front of an odd instrument with long fingernail extentions, rapt and removed.
I promise you'll hear from me again: I am in possession of a laptop computer.
